even though the icon is non in the notification tray, does onedrive even so run and sync? sometimes my machine starts up normally but some regular icons are not in the tray, just the programs yet work.

It doesn't seem to. I have uploaded a file to my OneDrive via the web interface, but it is not syncing to the OneDrive folder on my computer.

I fixed information technology. It was turned off in group policy editor.

Simply installed Windows x and also accept no Onedrive icon in tray. I have tried what you have suggest as did a tech at MS. Neither of us were successful. Volition there exist a fix for this in an upcoming update?

This is incorrect! (At least, on my (up-to-appointment) W10 PC) The required activeness, Ieventually discovered, is to be found in 'settings' for the task bar, -not in 'Notifications & Actions' reached every bit above. Right click on the task bar and go to 'settings' and then the 'Notification Surface area' at bottom of page (well-nigh off the screen on my brandish) and turn on the onedrive icon in the option listing.
The advice appears to be to then restart the PC, and the onedrive icon volition then announced. In my example, it did not appear after the restart. Going again to the selection list the onedrive icon was 'off'! (although others were 'on'). Withal, later switching information technology 'on', I now have a shiny new onedrive icon - afterwards heaven knows how many hours of messing around. (Just another 6 hours or so now until completing the, what should be simple, process of getting i drive upwardly, running and syncing. So much for progress, and clear instruction.
